Golf Equipment

Golf Equipment

The golf equipment that you will need to play the game will greatly be determined by your goals of playing the game. Simply meaning this...If you are just out to get some exercise and do some socializing then the golf equipment may be different for you as opposed to if your goal is to be your club champion. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting some exercise and spend some time socializing! Here are some basics to get you started:

Golf Bag – Golf bags have many different golf bag types and are considered a piece of golf equipment that you cannot play without since you will be using it to carry all of your golf clubs, golf balls and other necessities for your round of golf. Many golfers personalize them with color, getting their name embroidered on them or using a company or school logo.

Golf Glove – Although wearing a golf glove is a personal preference, it is almost mandatory in some parts of the country due to the humidity or dampness. Without wearing a glove in the Texas summer for example, it will literally be difficult to hold onto your golf club. Today’s gloves usually come with a ball maker that allows you to personalize the glove with color or your favorite school’s logo.

Golf Shoes – In order to play good golf, you will need a comfortable pair of golf shoes. Golf Shoes are sometimes overlooked but are very important for your stability during your swing as well as giving you comfort for the time that you will be on your feet. If you are not stabile during your swing it will be difficult to make a repeating swing. It goes without saying how an uncomfortable pair of shoes makes your feet feel. In addition, they can add flair and/or style to your golf attire.

Golf Training Aids – As we all want to improve, trying to find the correct golf instruction training aid for ourselves can be overwhelming. You watch the advertisements on television or see the ads in the magazines that claim to cut you handicap in half or add 10, 20 or more yards and wonder is that even possible? Remember the adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Golf Aids can be for various parts of the game including the full swing, putting chipping and pitching.

Golf Travel Bags – As you are looking to purchase a golf travel bag you will want to debate which of the following features are important to you and which features that you will need as opposed to features that you want. It is imperative that your clubs be properly protected in order to withstand possible turbulence and worse, mishandling. While creating these durable pieces of equipment, manufacturers keep key features in mind and are listed below:

Golf Cart – Walking golf push cart have come a long way in just the last ten years. Ten years ago, nobody was pushing their cart in front of them but dragging it behind them with a pull cart. With newer materials and technology, manufactures have made the push golf cart more ergonomic for your body

Yardage Finder – Decide what price range that you are willing to spend on a range finder or yardage finder before you begin your research. Like many other golf items, you can spend as much as you would like to spend on a yardage finder or you can do your homework and purchase a unit that fits your needs specifically.

Are You Taking Putting Lessons?

For some reason students seem reluctant to take putting lessons. I do not quite understand this as improving your putting is the fastest way to lower your scores.

I think that students do not want to take putting lessons for a couple of reasons…
Doing work on the range trying to hit the ball far and straight feels and sounds sexier and more fun than improving your putting with a putting drill. Many players like to compare themselves by how far they can hit not only the driver but also their irons. I always preferred to have the lowest score at the end of the round and collect my winnings. I figured that was impressive enough!People in general do not like to do things that they are not good at. I am guilty of this myself with my putting. Why go and get frustrated on the practice putting green when I can go to the driving range to hit good shots that I know that I can hit? Many times ego gets in the way.Another reason is one that actually does not fall on the student but the instructor.…

Typically, the article will describe the tip, drill or lesson in detail and be accompanied by pictures to help you gain a clear understanding. Putting Drills - Are They All Good?

Many golfers want putting drills to help them improve their stroke and get the ball in the hole faster. Many golfers will hear that a friend used a golf putting drill that helped them and make the mistake that the same drill will help them too. Here are a few reasons why it does not work that way and what you should be looking for to find the best putting drills to improve your game.

Learning Styles
There are three major learning styles auditory, feel and visual. Auditory would be that the way that you best consume information is hearing it. For example, an instructor can simply tell you to do something different, you hear it and you can do it. Learning through feel you have to be able to feel the new movement before you can begin to learn it. Most golfers are visual and like to be shown something and then try to repeat it. One is not better than another, it is simply that we are build or wired differently. The putting lesson your friend may have received was for a visual learner. How…

Junior Golf Lessons

It does not a rocket scientist to figure out the future of golf lies within growing junior golf. Depending on the age of your child and goals of your child, junior golf lessons can take many forms. Here is a short list of the options that are out there for your child to learn and enjoy the game of golf.

Private Junior Golf Lesson
This is the traditional way to learn the game. A professional takes your child and teaches them one on one the fundamentals of the game. Although the child, if interested, can learn very quickly in the format, it is the most expensive way to learn how to play the game.

Junior Golf Camp
Many kids are introduced to the game through a summer junior camp. Depending on the size of the camp, the kids are broken up in to groups typically by age although some camps divide students via skill level. It seems that students have to choose which sport they are going to play at a younger and younger age. With this being said, many camps are full of younger children so you wi…
